Last week, from 10 to 13 May, experts from all over the world met in the city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for Adaptation Futures 2016. Nearly 1700 scholars, policymakers, practitioners and businesses coming from over 100 countries gathered to address the urgency to adapt to the threats caused by global warming.
The ENHANCE project partners presented at and chaired several sessions during the conference, covering topics such as options and opportunities for the loss and damage mechanism; finance for adaptation; recent experience with floods and long-term planning; and droughts from a social, economic and technical perspective, among other. At the Adaptation Expo, a great number of conference participants had the chance to visit the ENHANCE booth and learn about the project findings and results.
Adaptation Futures is the biennial conference of the Global Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA). In 2016, the European Commission and the Government of the Netherlands co-hosted the 4th edition.
