On the 9th and 10th of December 2015, the ENHANCE project partners met in Valencia to discuss the state of play of the project and pave its way forward.
Over two days, partners gathered at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPVLC) to discuss the work-in-progress in the case studies’ risk assessment and the application of methods and tools developed in the various work packages (WPs) of the project. As the project has just reached half way of its 4 years length, the meeting also offered an opportunity to reflect on the existing achievements.
The first day of the meeting was above all designated to discussing the diverse case studies and updates on the research conducted by the partners. How to actually translate the scientific research of ENHANCE for the general public and how to bridge the science-policy and science-end user gap, has also reached the agenda of the sessions. Furthermore, the participants received project management update about the fact that the European Commission has accepted the 18 months report and that the project has already generated substantial outcomes.
On the second day, partners further agreed on communication activities for the last two years of the project, organised bilateral meetings to encourage collaboration across the WPs and case studies, and set the scene for the next meeting that will take place in Iceland in June 2015.
Jeroen Aerts, ENHANCE Project Coordinator, wrapped up the meetings saying: “Now the challenge is to live up to the high expectations we have set by the quality of our work so far”.
